Amy Smart has been a model, actress, and former American. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modelling professional career in Italy. She made her acting debut in 1996, when she appeared in The TV movie Her Costly Affair. Her fight to secure a part on Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. Amy struggled to make the switch from modeling to acting because model actors aren't generally considered to be actors of any kind. They're often given small roles that aren't important. Amy did not give up. She climbed the ladder to greater roles, starting with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Then she stepped into leading roles with the 2005s romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy received the recognition she'd been looking for for over a decade. Amy continued to make significant films like the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed a well loved recurring character.
