Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to an unlucky family of twelve kids who would grew up with them eventually. She learned early how to get out of her difficulties with her extraordinary and vibrant imagination. Before she was able to write and read, she began singing her own tunes. At the age of 8, she had her very first guitar. As a teenager, she began to sing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small, independent label. When she was still in highschool she made her name locally however she longed for a bigger stage. When she was graduating in 1964 she moved to Nashville. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. It was around this time that Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his syndicated television show. Parton accepted the job in 1967 and signed with RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 when her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were out-charting their collaborations. Following their break-up, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and the song reached Number. The song of Parton in 1974. I Will Always Love You climbed to the No.
